Six years ago the “Surrey Fest” as it is now known, began life as a lowly party / barbecue attended by a small group of friends. This was originally intended as a one-off event, but somehow it is still going strong and has evolved over the years to become a kind of small annual festival with the number of attendees growing each year, (we believe there were 70 or so at last years event!)
Our ‘Festers’ are a cosmopolitan group of people from all walks of life - from housewives to company directors (with several accountants, civil engineers, plumbers, shop owners, quantity surveyors, police, etc, etc, thrown in for good measure).
Usually they are scattered all over the U.K., but once every summer our ‘festers’ down tools (be they theodolites or saucepans) and travel from as far afield as Swansea, Liverpool, Exeter and Bath (to name but a few places) to meet up at a secret Surrey location, pitch their tents, pull out some tinnies and paaaarteee!
The ‘Fest’ lasts anything from 3-8 days (depending on how early ‘festers’ decide they want to arrive and how long they can take the pace before they have to give in and retreat home for a well earned rest).
The Surrey ‘Fest’ is a strictly private event and is not open to the general public, however our web-site most definately is!! We welcome you all, whether you are a ‘fester’ or not, to peruse our site at your leisure, there’s lots to read and see. Have a few laughs on us (see the antics of the previous years ‘Fest’ for starters) , and hopefully you’ll enjoy yourselves enough to sign our guestbook too!
